People's Music Network Winter Gathering

– January 28-30 Many of you are already familiar with the People's Music Network (PMN). They are a national network of people using music, dance, storytelling and poetry "to promote progressive ideas and transform ourselves and our communities through music to bring about a better world."

PMN is having its Winter Gathering in Hartford, CT from January 28-30, 2011, and you might be interested in attending! Usually there are some people from our club t here, as well as other Clearwater Sloop Clubs.

The opening "River of Song" concert on Friday, 1.28 at 7:30 will include Pete Seeger, as well as The Work of the Weavers, Spook Handy, Sharon Katz & Peace Train, Miyashawn, Bread and Roses, and others.

Tickets are $16-$24 on a sliding scale. Located: Bulkeley High School A uditorium, 300 Wethersfield Avenue, Hartford, CT. Activities continue on Saturday and Sunday 1.29-30 at the Moylan School, 101 Catherine Street, Hartford, CT 06106, and include more performances, jamming, song swaps, Round Robin, vendors for crafts and musical instruments,and workshops about performing, peace, political issues, and organizing.
